The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is offering needs-based scholarships for families from the Greater Philadelphia region seeking to send their children to non-profit, Jewish-identity day camps and overnight camps during the summer of 2010. I want to pass it on to our community, so that those of you who are interested don't lose out on this financial incentive opportunity.

Please act promptly if you are interested in Jewish summer camp scholarship assistance. Scholarships are being awarded by the Jewish Federation on a first-come, first served basis. Awards ranging between 10% to 40% of camp tuition are available to income-eligible families for qualifying camps. Please visit www.jewishphilly.org/campincentive, or contact Deirdre Mulligan at dmulligan@jfgp.org or 215-832-0509. Also visit www.onehappycamper.org for information about eligible camps and the incentives. You may also contact individual camps for information and applications.

The deadline for overnight camp scholarship applications is February 26, 2010, and for day camp scholarships March, 26, 2010, but early application is advised, as funds are limited.

Jewish summer camp is a wonderful way for children to further develop their Jewish identities. If this choice is something you have been thinking may be right for your family, please check out whether your child may be eligible for this financial incentive
