Beth Am Israel has many volunteers who are active on a wide variety of committees. Click on a committee name to email the committee and get more information, or contact the office.

  • Art Committee: Makes decisions about artwork to put up around our building.
  • Bar/Bat Mitzvah Committee: Schedules dates, answers questions, and helps families navigate the bar/bat mitzvah process.
  • Capital Campaign Committee: Involved in running our capital campaign.
  • Cooking Committee: A regular group of BAI members who get together to cook for events, programs, and g’milut hasadim.
  • Education Committee: Discusses educational goals, curriculum, and parent involvement, and provides support to the education program and education director.
  • Kehillat 54+: Our empty nesters group plans events such as wine tastings, going to shows, Shabbat dinners, speakers and discussions, and more. Check out our Social Groups page for more information.
  • G’milut Hasadim Committee: Involved in a wide variety of social action and community support activities. View our Tikkun Olam page for more information.
  • Green Committee: Helps our practices stay “green” and environmentally friendly, as well as planning occasional programs.
  • House Committee: Assists in building-related decisions.
  • Inclusion Committee: Helps make sure special accommodations and support are available to anyone who needs it, as well as planning educational events and raising awareness.
  • Membership Committee: Reaches out to prospective and new members and welcomes people into our community.
  • Religious Life Committee: Makes decisions about religious rituals and observances and provides support to the Rabbi and Hazzan.
  • Security Committee: Makes recommendations about security practices to ensure safety.
  • Tot Shabbat & Please Touch Shabbat: A group of parents who run our Tot Shabbat & Please Touch Shabbat programs.
  • Ushers: Members who greet and show people around the building during Shabbat mornings and holidays.
