Beth Am Israel’s early childhood programs help our community’s youngest children and their families grow and flourish within a Jewish community. We seek to build community within the synagogue that will last our young children for a lifetime. These programs offer a great opportunity to meet young families and celebrate Shabbat together. Even if you don’t have children in this age group, feel free to join in!
Please Touch Shabbat
One Shabbat morning each month, children kindergarten age and below embark with their parents on an exploration of timeless Jewish values through games, stories, music and a bit of the unexpected.
On Shabbat mornings while school is in session, toddlers and their parents come together to pray, sing, dance, study Torah and hear a great story. Tot Shabbat is a parent-led service, with regular visits by Rabbi David, Hazzan Harold, and Rabbi Shelly.
Grade-level family services are led by Rabbi David, Hazzan Harold, Rabbi Shelly, or volunteers. During family services, kids and parents engage in Torah study, tefilah (prayer), and other Jewish learning through singing, instrumentals, drama, and storytelling.
