Shabbat is the center of the Beth Am Israel community. Each Shabbat we come together as an intergenerational community in tefilah (prayer) and Jewish learning. The core strength of this experience allows us to carry the spirit of Shabbat with us into other aspects of our lives.
Friday Evening Kabbalat Shabbat Worship Service
The Hebrew word “kabbalah” can mean “receive” or “greet.” As we come in, holding onto the business and strain of the week, we open ourselves to receiving the rest and renewal of Shabbat, and we greet one another as a community of friends. Join us at 6:00 p.m. each Friday night as we capture the essence of Kabbalat Shabbat with guitars and soulful melodies. Together we unplug from the week and welcome the respite, renewal and rhythms of Shabbat.
Shabbat Morning Worship Service
As a Shabbat-centered community, Shabbat mornings are a time for our whole community to come together – to celebrate, to learn, and to pray. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., we have a diverse range of spiritual and educational experiences including Torah Study, Torah Yoga, Prayer by Prayer, Melody & Meaning of Prayer, and more!
Sunday Morning Minyan
The Sunday Minyan is an intimate, warm, welcoming, and informal prayer experience that is held each week at 9:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome to Sunday Minyan, and it’s a great way to become familiar with morning services.
