We are continuing the Justice Reform conversation we started on Yom Kippur.

Criminal Justice: Reform and Responses

10:00- 11:00 am
A panel of experts will help us explore challenges and practices in the criminal justice system, as well as programmatic and individual responses.
The panel will include:
Rabbi David Ackerman- Rabbi, Beth Am Israel
Lois Hagarty- President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ACLU
Maurice Jones-Operations Manager, People Advancing Reintegration (PAR) – Recycle Works
Reena Halprin- Criminal Justice Mitigation Specialist

Souls Shot: A Panel of Mothers 

11:00 am- 12:00 pm

The conversation around criminal justice and healing continues with a panel of mothers whose children have been lost to gun violence and an artist, Elisa Abeloff, who has memorialized their children in portraits.

  • Souls Shot : Exhibit memorializing victims of gun violence
  • Yoga and Mindfulness Practice Sessions
  • “Spoken Word” writing session
  • Cooking for people living in homeless shelters

Hands on Family Activities

  • Coloring activities for a good cause
  • Make shelter animal toys for PAWS and PSPCA
  • Sort clothes for those in need
  • “Green” butterfly garden project
  • Recording audio children’s books
  • Craft projects for therapy goats and other causes
