“Hebrew school is fun because we get to debate ideas from the Torah with our friends. We’re basically 5th grade Rabbis.”
Rachel Harmon and Charlotte Jacobson

At Beth Am Israel, the goal of our education program (Beit Midrash) is to create a joyful, caring, and safe learning environment for our children and families to develop their Jewish identities. Our curriculum focuses on Jewish values, Hebrew, holidays, prayer and Torah. Our school meets twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, and provides a different learning experience on each day. We are proud of our Shabbat morning educational program, which cultivates the importance of learning and participation as a shared family experience in a Jewish Shabbat atmosphere. Some highlights of our programs include Hebrew learning by levels, community-based service projects and classroom projects.

Mordecai declared the holiday of Purim a time of “feasting and gladness, and of sending food to one another, and gifts to the poor.”  Today, Purim remains a time for giving Mishloach Manot, gifts of food, both to those we know and those in need.

Beth Am Israel’s education program is selling Mishloach Manot (kosher, nut-free goodie-bags of treats such as hamentaschen, dried fruit, chocolate, and more) to raise funds for our educational program.

Order Mishloach Manot for…

Beth Am Israel Members, Faculty and Staff! Your friends, family, or neighbors! Tzedakah (delivered to the Mitzvah Pantry)!

How does it work?

  •  When you order for Beth Am Israel Members, Faculty or Staff, you’ll name each person or family to whom you’d like to send a parcel-or send to the entire congregation! Parcels will be delivered by volunteers. Please log on here, and use your customized code to purchase. If you have any questions, please reach out to Sarah Lefkowitz
